Per IRS Notice 1036 the amount to withhold from payroll checks for U.S. Federal Income Tax has changed effective immediately. The changes also affect the Earned Income Tax Credit. The IRS asks employers to begin using these tables as soon as possible but no later than April 1, 2009.
For those of you using Procare as your Daycare Payroll Software you’ll be pleased to know the changes are available right away by downloading a tax table update.

The U.S. Federal Minimum Wage rises today to $6.55 per hour. If your State Minimum Wage is already higher than that it won’t directly affect your child care business.
