Be Prepared, Not Alarmed

Fire AlarmIt’s so easy to take technology for granted. We assume we’ll be able to look up whatever we need on our computers, smart phones and tablet devices. So what happens when your computer isn’t working, your internet connection is down, or the power goes out completely? It’s sure to happen sooner or later, but don’t pull that alarm just yet. By choosing a letter for your USB drive you’ll know it should remain the same on that computer.

This is a good question, but it really has two parts. First, what is the Fixed Drive anyway? And second, how do I back up to another device like a USB flash drive or thumb drive?
