It’s so easy to take technology for granted. We assume we’ll be able to look up whatever we need on our computers, smart phones and tablet devices. So what happens when your computer isn’t working, your internet connection is down, or the power goes out completely? It’s sure to happen sooner or later, but don’t pull that alarm just yet. The answer, as any Boy Scout will tell you, is to be prepared.
What does that mean for your child care business? How do you create an “Emergency Management Plan” to keep you running even when your high-tech gadgets are on the fritz? Oh no… my computer crashed! NOW what do I do?
You tap a key and the computer just sits there… nothing. You reboot, but it never comes back to life. Then you get a sinking feeling in your gut… you’ve been meaning to back up your data, but just keep forgetting, or haven’t had the time.
There’s no doubt recovering from a computer crash can be a nightmare, especially if you’ve lost data you rely on to run your child care, daycare or preschool. Fortunately Procare Software® now provides a great tool to help protect your business critical information.

By choosing a letter for your USB drive you’ll know it should remain the same on that computer.

Every day, I hear from someone who has experienced their worst fear – their data is gone! If you depend on ProCare Software to help manage your child care business you need a way to recover information when you have a computer failure. In ProCare we use the Backup / Restore option, and in this article we’ll look at how to safeguard your data. Continue reading
