Child Care News for August
We all know that children respond best when they are taught one-on-one, and this includes preschool environments. A study conducted by La Petite Academy followed students from fall 2014 through spring 2015. Results show that children who were given tailored instruction and personalized care show a 370% increase in readiness for kindergarten.
Good management software is a key element in helping centers to operate at a profit, but what else can be done to add value to running a business in this industry? One way is with state assistance, where money is funneled from various sources, such as taxed items like tobacco or alcohol. Another strategy is to bring a number of centers together under one umbrella and consolidating the business end which is run by dedicated professionals.
With help from child care centers, parents that previously had no time to study or attend classes are able to achieve important goals such as getting their GED. This opens many doors for parents trying to make ends meet, and the price of keeping their children in child care becomes much more affordable when incomes increase. However, for some parents, an extra helping hand is necessary, and in York County, PA, a partnership between the York County Literacy Council and the Community Progress Council gives assistance to parents seeking their GEDs.
